Twelve-year-old Mariam from Beit Hanoun in the north of the Gaza Strip was a sensitive, joyful and laughing child. She loved drawing. She used to take part in her school trips. Her ambition was to be a teacher in the future. She was scared during the war.
On 26 July 2014, Mariam was killed along with her brother, Ali,10, Abed raboh,16, her mother, 47,and her step-mother,40, in an UNRWA school attack. She had been waiting for the bus to take them to a safer place inside the school yard,” said her sister Manar, 14.
