Three-year-old Elias from Beit Lahia in the north of the Gaza Strip was very enthusiastic about going to kindergarten. He bought a school bag and carried it all the time. “He was a very curious and insisting child,” his surviving aunt Majida, 43, said.
Elias was killed along with his immediate family members: Yasser, 8; Sawsan, 11; Reem, 12; Yassen, 9, and his parents, when their house was hit by Israeli missiles on 21 July 2014. "Elias’ kindergarten bag is still here, but no one carries it any longer,” his aunt added.
