Ali from the northern area of the Gaza Strip was the son of Mohamed Al-Deif, a ‘wanted’ leader in the Hamas movement by Israeli intelligence. His family, and the complete media blackout, is blocking all personal information about Ali.
Ali and his family were staying in a rented apartment in Rabah Al Dalou building. On 19 August 2014, Israeli forces attempted to kill his father by bombarding the building. The house was completely destroyed. Six people were killed instantly including Ali at the age of seven months, his mother, Wedad, 28, and his sister Sarah, 2.
