At approximately 11:00 pm on Monday 19 May 2014, Israeli gunboats opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats which were in the sea, one nautical mile away from the coast, northwest Rafah.
Israeli rubber gunboats surrounded two fishing boats and forced two fishermen who were on its board to take off their clothes and swim towards the gunboat.
The Israeli forces then arrested them.
Al Mezan identified their names as: Ayman Khalil Abdallah Al Bardaweel, 43, and his brother Khalil Abdallah Al Bardaweel, 41.
The Israeli forces took them towards the north.
According to Al Mezan’s filed investigations, the boat was far away from the illuminated buoys north Rafah in the fishing zone.
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) confiscated two boats, and electricity generators used in lighting for fishing
