28 February 2014
Short Link:
At approximately 3:30 pm on Friday 28 February 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at the weekly demonstration against the access restricted area.
The demonstration was organized by Palestinian youth and children in the border area near the Islamic Cemetery east of Jabaliya in North Gaza district.
The shooting continued until 4:30 on the same day.
As a result, Khaled An-Nemnem, 19, sustained a bullet wound in his right leg.
Medical sources at Kamal Adwan hospital described his injury as moderate.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, a number of people crossed the barriers that the Palestinian police had put in order to prevent any approach to the borders in order to preserve their lives.
In response, Israeli soldiers positioned near the separation fence started shooting and launching the tear gas canisters at them.
It’s worth mentioning that the repetition of this weekly incident took a form of peaceful protest against the access restricted area east of Jabaliya.
