At approximately 3:00 pm on Friday 3 January 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of Palestinian young men who were near the borders east the Islamic cemetery east of Jabaliya in North Gaza district.
As a result, Khaled Ibrahim Ashoor Awda, 21 sustained a bullet wound in his right leg.
Medical sources at Kamal Odwan hospital described his injury as moderate.
Khalid is a resident of Al Shatee’ refugee camp in Gaza.
It’s worth mentioning that Palestinian young men usually go to the border areas in their holidays to visit the cemetery and they approach the border fence.
