At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday 16 July 2011, the Israeli naval vessels patrolling the Gaza sea opened fire on the Palestinian fishing boats off the coast of As-Sudaniya area west of the town of Beit Lahiya in north Gaza district. The firing scared the fishermen on the boats and they sailed to land immediately. No casualties or injuries were reported.
