12:10am on Saturday 15 May 2010, unknown armed men opened fire on Hasan Salih Mohammed Abu Zaied, 34, while he was on his way home in the An-Nasr neighborhood, west of Gaza city.
According to Al Mezan's field investigations, Abu Zaied was on his way home when three masked, armed men tried to kidnap him near his house.
They opened fire on him.
As a result, he was shot in the legs and his brother, who tried to help him, sustained shrapnel.
The assailants left the area.
Ambulance arrived at the scene of the incident and carried the two brothers to Shifa Hospital.
