5pm on Sunday 7 February 2010 ten-year-old Ra'ed Tareq Abu Jabal died after he hanged himself few days earlier.
The child is from Ash-Sheja'iya neighborhood east of Gaza City.
According to affidavits given to Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights by relatives of the child’s, at app.
4pm on Tuesday 2 February 2010, he hung himself by a robe his family use for laundry on the roof of their house.
They added that the child’s behavior was an attempted imitation of ‘heroic character’ in a Turkish soap opera.
His family found him hanged on the roof and took him to Shifa Hospital immediately.
He was referred to an Israeli hospital on the next day; however, he died five days later.
