At app. 4am on Friday 30 October 2009, unidentified persons detonated an explosive device at the entrance of the Gallery cafeteria of the Palestinian Contractors Union (PCU), which is located near the Ministry of Detainees in Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood in the southwest of Gaza City. Al Mezan knew that Jamal Abu Al-Komsan runs the cafeteria. The explosion caused material damages to the cafeteria and shattered the windows panes. It also injured one of the workers, called Loa'ai Abu Al Komsan. The motivations behind this explosion and perpetrators have remained unknown.
