Child Injured by a Bullet in Middle Gaza District

12pm on Thursday 24 September 2009, Mohammed Abdul Mo'ti Abu Jarad, 17, was injured by a bullet in the pelvis.
He was transferred to Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Dier Al Balah town for treatment.
He was then referred to a hospital in Israel.
According to statements by his family, 'On Thursday 24 September 2009 midday, a force from the police and the criminal investigations unit surrounded the house of Abdul Latif Mohammed Abu Jarad, 43 and broke into it.
Abu Jarad was not at home at that moment.
They force told the residents that they wanted to search the house.
Jarad's son, 17, and his brother, 26, spoke with the police force.
A quarrel started between the residents of the house the police when the residents asked the police to show them a search warrant.
The force commander told them that they had an 'oral search warrant'.
When jarad's son argued with the police, the commander decided to arrest him.
The son, called Mohammed, asked the commander to allow him go into the house and get dressed.
However, the child entered from his house front door and escaped from the backdoor.
At that moment a gunshot was heard and the child was injured from it in the pelvis.
He was admitted to the Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Dier Al Balah.
His injuries were described by medical sources as critical, as the bullet entered the pelvis and exited from above his sensitive organs.
On the next day, the child was transferred to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon for advanced medical care.
