At approximately 10:00, on the 12th of December, members of the Palestinian security apparatus organized a demonstration in Khan Younis to protest the deterioration of the security situation in the Gaza Strip.
They set fire to car tires in Bani Suhalia and Abu Hamid junctions in the town, and broke into the Ministries of Telecommunications, Interior, and Public Works, and forced the employees to evacuate their offices.
Further, a group of armed men broke into the building of the Palestinian Telecommunicating Company in Khan Younis, and attempted to drive the workers out of the building, however, the workers refused to leave their offices.
An altercation took place between the two sides which ended by the withdrawal of the armed men.
