Short Link:
The Israeli occupation forces fired this morning 14/3/2001 at Ahmad Salim Shahada Bannar an 18 years-old Palestinian youth from Shijaiya in Gaza, in a confrontation near al-Muntar crossing which led to his death after having been wounded by bullets in his chest.
Just as the Israeli occupation forces continue their attacks against civilian property.
Yesterday evening 13/3/2001 military bulldozers razed 23 dunams of agricultural land in the Qalaj area east of Gaza.
This land belongs to:
Salma al-Aidi Hasan Hilis 5 dunams of land cultivated with fruit and olive trees.
Mahmud Ahmad Mahmud Hilis 2,5 dunams cultivated with olive trees.
Khalid al-Aidi Hasan Hilis 8 dunams of land cultivated with olive trees.
Salim al-Aidi Hasan Hilis 5 dunams of land cultivated with olive trees.
Sulaiman al-Aidi Hasan Hilis 2,5 dunams cultivated with olive trees.
In Rafah 4 dunams cultivated with olive trees owned by Muhammad Ahmad Mahmud ash-Shair and a roof with an area of 100 square meters were also razed with military bulldozers by the Israeli forces.
The occupation forces continue their escalation in their targeting of religious and residential premises.
Thus an-Nur Mosque in Rafah- in the Brazil area- and situated on the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt suffered from the shelling of rocket and bullets being fired by the Israeli occupation soldiers which led to the complete destruction of all the windows of the mosque as well as serious damage to the walls.
The area around it and the houses also suffered from the shelling and firing, including the following:
Tawfiq Muhammad Marzuq Zanun suffered damages on two asbestos planks on his roof and Muhammad Zanun was wounded by shell shards.
Abd al-Qadir Yusuf Aisa ash-Shair suffered damages to the walls of his house which caused the destruction of 14 glass-windows including balcony-doors.
Samir Juma Hasan Abu Jazar suffered damages to the walls of his house.
Hani Fakhri aj-Jazar suffered damages to the exterior walls of his house.
On the other hand the Israeli occupation forces continue the escalation of the closure imposed on the Palestinian people and on their villages and cities through the imposition of a harsh military closure which separates the Palestinian occupied cities and villages from each other by closing the entrances and cutting them from each other and forbidding the movement to and from.
Al Mezan Center for Human Rights emphasizes that what the Israeli occupation forces are carrying out constitutes a grave breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention especially concerning the protection of civilians in time of war.
Thus we demand the international community to intervene immediately and lift the closure on the Palestinian civilians in order to protect them and their possessions.
