Israel Launches Five Air Raids on Gaza. Ten Palestinians Killed; 111 Wounded

On Monday October .
20, 2003, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched five air strikes on the Gaza Strip killing ten Palestinians and wounding over a hundred.
Two of the wounded were pronounced clinically dead while eight others remain in critical condition at area hospitals.
According to Al Mezan’s investigations, Israeli Helicopter gun ships fired missiles into a car at the entrance to the Nuseirat refugee camp at approximately 9:15 pm.
Two people were in the car at the moment of the explosion and a third managed to escape.
Area residents and medical teams gathered to assist the wounded and were attempting to douse the flames when helicopter gunships fired more missiles into the crowd.
Seven people were killed and 65 were wounded according to medical reports.
One of the dead was a doctor from the camp’s public clinic.
Following is a list of the dead: Dr.
Zein Al Abideen Muhamad Shaheen, aged 35.
Dr.
Shaheen was the camp clinic’s doctor who was trying to aid the wounded.
Muhammad Ziad Baroud, aged 12, Ahmad Eid Khalifeh, aged 49, Muhammad Ishtiwi Al Masri, aged 23, Abdul Haleem Tabaza, aged 23, Atiyeh Yousif Mu’nis, aged 20, Mahdi Ismail Jarbu’, aged 20.
Medical reports announced Ayoub Musbah Al Malik and Ibrahim Tabaza clinically dead while eight others were listed in critical condition.
Sixteen of the wounded in this attack were children.
At approximately 10:30 pm the same day Israeli helicopter gunships fired missiles into a house in the Shijayeh area of Gaza City.
Eleven people were wounded.
Occupation Forces had attacked that same building and one nearby that same morning wounding 17.
At approximately 10:50am Occupation Forces fired missiles into a car on Jalaa Street in Gaza City.
Three persons were killed, including the driver of another car nearby.
The victims were Khalid Ghazi Al Masri, Iyad Fayiq Al Hilu, aged 28, and Marwan Al Khateeb, aged 34.
Another 18 people were wounded in this attack and numerous vehicles and buildings were damaged.
At approximately 12:20pm Israeli helicopters fired missiles into a small building on a farm south of Gaza City completely destroying it.
No casualties were reported in this attack.
All told, IOF soldiers killed ten people and wounded 111 others including 28 children and two pregnant women during this series of strikes.
The Al Mezan Center for Human Rights is appalled by the incessant Israeli war crimes against the Palestinian population of the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).
The Center calls upon the international community to intervene immediately to fulfill its legal and moral obligations towards the civilian population of the OPT END
