Israeli Forces Open Fire at Demonstrators in East Gaza City

At 1pm on Monday, 7 May 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel used live ammunition, plastic-coated steel bullets, and tear gas canisters on unarmed Palestinians joining the Great Return March demonstration organized near Malaka area in the east of Al Zaitoun neighborhood in east Gaza city. Two demonstrators, including a child, were injured by live fire. Doctors at Al Shifa Hospital said the two casualties were moderate. The shooting continued until 7 pm on the same day.
