Israeli Aircraft Attacks Palestinian Farmers in North of Beit Lahyia; One Child Killed

  At approximately 11:20 am on Sunday 21 August 2011, an Israeli aircraft fired a missile targeting Haitham Ahmed Mustafa Ma’rouf, 13, while he was helping his family plant vegetables on their rented plot of land, which is located at the end of Baraka Mosque street, in the west of Dawas area in the north of Beit Lahyia, North Gaza district.
As a result, the boy sustained shrapnel wounds in different parts of the left side of his body.
He was admitted to the intensive care unit at Kamal Odwan Hospital.
At around midday Sunday he was referred to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, where doctors removed his spleen and other bodily tissue.
At approximately 8:00 pm on Wednesday 24 August 2011, doctors decided to refer him to an Israeli hospital.
At approximately 9:00 am on Monday 29 August 2011, the Israeli hospital pronounced his death from the wounds that he had sustained.
The boy’s body was delivered to the Erez crossing and was referred to Kamal Odwan.
He was buried in the Mashrou’ Beit Lahiya cemetery.
