Al Mezan Condemns Assault against Fateh Leader in Gaza and Calls for Bringing Assailants to Justice

At approximately 1:00 pm on Friday 15 March 2013, unidentified persons opened fire at Jamal Sa’eed Ahmed Obeid, member of the Fatah Senior Leadership Committee, while he was in Al Habour area in Jabaliya, north of the Gaza Strip.
As a result, Mr.
Obeid sustained a bullet wound in the left leg.
Medical sources at Kamal Odwan Hospital described his injury as moderate.
According to Al Mezan field investigations, two masked men on a motorcycle opened fire at Mr.
Obied while he driving his car home following the Friday prayers and escaped.
Police opened investigation into the incident.
Al Mezan Center for Human Rights strongly deplores the assault and views such attacks with huge concern.
Al Mezan calls on the police to track the assailants and bring them to justice.
