Short Link:
On Sunday, 31 August 2008, Al Mezan Center for Human Rights concluded a 'Training of Trainers (TOT) in the International Humanitarian Law (IHL)'.
The course is part of the Center's activities under the 'Promotion of IHL and ESCR by Education in Gaza' project, which is supported by Diakonia.
The training aims to enable a number of human rights workers and lawyers to deliver training and awareness activities on international humanitarian law more effectively in the Gaza Strip.
The course targeted 18 participants from the Al Mezan Center staff members and other human rights NGOs in Gaza.
It included two parts: 1) basic content and principles of IHL, its development, sources, and enforcement; and 2) training and moderation skills.
In the second part, the training covered the main concepts of training and adult education, the main training skills, the main training and moderation methods, and evaluation.
A specialized follow-up training session on how to design IHL materials will be held later this month for the same group for training.
