At 2pm on Friday, 27 April 2018, Israeli forces based in monitoring sites on the eastern borders of Jabalia refugee camp heavily fired tear-gas grenades at Palestinians demonstrating to the east of Al Shuhada cemetery in eastern Jabalia. The demonstration was held as part of the “Great Return March”. 128 of these demonstrators were injured, including 19 children, three women, and two journalists.
Doctors at the Indonesia, Al Awda, and Kamal Adwan hospitals assessed casualties to range from moderate to serious. 27 of them sustained wounds by live fire, 54 by tear-gas grenades and rubber-coated steel bullets, and others suffered from tear gas inhalation. More demonstrators who suffered from the used tear gas received the necessary care by medical teams in the field. Israeli shooting at demonstrators continued until the evening of the same day.
