At 16:30 on Sunday, 10 September 2017, Israeli forces took to detention and interrogation Fadel Mazen Abu Hasira, 27 years old and a resident of Al-Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City. Accompanied by his mother, Fadel was on his way to receive treatment for his right leg in Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem, and Israeli authorities had already notified him of permission to travel through Erez. However, forces in the crossing point detained him and kept him for interrogation. Twice in previous months, Fadel requested permission to leave through Erez for his medical case, but his request was rejected and with this suspense his case only worsened.
