Abed, a resident of Al Sabra neighborhood in southern Gaza city and a lecturer at the Islamic University of Gaza, was on his way through Erez to participate in a conference on technological linkages among universities in Italy, yet Israeli authorities detained him and kept him in a prison in Ashkelon.
