The IOF renewed its intensive artillery shelling of residential houses in various areas in North Gaza; including Ezbet Beit Hanoun, Al Twam, Beer Al Na’jeh, Al Qasasib, the eastern parts of Al Faluja cemetery, Tal Al Za’tar in Jabaliya and Hamouda crossroads east Beit Lahiya. The shelling started at 2:00 pm on Tuesday 29 July 2014 and lasted until midday on Wednesday 30 July 2014. As a result, 11 members from the Balata family were killed, including five women and five children. Another 41 people were injured in the shelling, including five women and 17 children. A mosque and about 20 houses were damaged.
