At approximately midday on Thursday 16 January 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested Mahmoud Salim Abu Shammas, 34, while he was at Erez crossing on his way to Assuta Hospital in Tel-Aviv,Ramat HaHayal.
He was asked by the hospital to go there to sign some commitments to make a surgery for his father Salim Abu Shammas, 70.
His father was in the hospital with his escorting nephew Abdel Kader Abu Shammas, 49.
According to Abu Shammas’s relatives, patient Salim Abu Shammas health condition was deteriorated and died on 19 January 2014 when he knew that his son Mahmoud was arrested by IOF.
