In the morning hours of Thursday 21 March 2013, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) informed the Palestinian Liaison Office its intent to open Erez crossing for humanitarian cases, patients, and internationals.
The partial opening of the crossing continued until Friday 22 March 2013.
The crossing was then closed on Saturday as a weekly holiday.
On Sunday 24 March 2013, the IOF opened the crossing for all people except businessmen.
According to Israeli media, the IOF closed the crossing as a punishment for breaching the ceasefire and launching rockets against the Israeli side.
The IOF announced its intent to totally close the crossing on Monday and Tuesday for Easter holiday.
The IOF partially opened the crossing for patents, humanitarian cases and internationals on Wednesday.
On Thursday 28 March 2013, the IOF opened the crossing as normal.
