Land Authority and Police in Gaza Demolish Rural Houses Built on Government-Owned Lands in Bedouin Village

At approximately 10:00 am on Tuesday 2 October 2012, a force from Land Authority and police destroyed houses, rooms, and crops established on government-owned lands which are located in northeast of Um An-Naser (Bedouin) village in North Gaza district.
Residents of these houses protested against the demolishing operation.
The police opened fire to disperse protesters.
As a result three persons were injured.
Al Mezan has identified their names as follows: ·         Mousa Sa’eed Abu Hasheesh, 17, who sustained a bullet wound in the thighs; ·         Iyad Abdel Kareem Abu Ghazal, 16, who sustained bullet wound in the right leg; and ·         ‘Aisha Mohammed Al Abraq, 35, who sustained light injury in the head.
  Medical sources at Kamal Odwan Hospital described the injury of Abu Hasheesh as critical.
He was referred to Shifa Hospital in Gaza.
The police arrested 10 residents of the area and released them in late hours on the same day.
Residents of the area claimed that they did not receive notifications about the date of eviction.
