At approximately 7:30 am on Tuesday 1 May 2012, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) moved about 400 meters into the east of Al Qarrara village, east of Khan Younis district.
The IOF then moved southwards into agricultural lands east of Absan and Khuza’a villages east of Khan Younis.
The IOF leveled lands in the area and opened heavy fire at residential neighborhoods and agricultural lands.
No casualties or injuries were reported in this incident.
At approximately 11:30 am on the same day, Israeli aircraft opened fire at agricultural lands in the same area, causing a fire to break out in a wheat barn.
A crew from Iqraa TV channel was in a house near the border east of Absan village when the IOF opened fire on the area, forcing the crew to remain hiding in the house.
At around midday, the IOF withdrew from the area.
At approximately 2:00 pm on the same day, the IOF moved under covering fire into the same area once again.
The firing resulted in several dunams of wheat and barley being burnt down at a distance between 200 and 800 meters away from the separation fence east of Khuza’a village.
At approximately 4:20 pm on the same day, Hmada Fat’hi Qdeeh, 33, sustained a bullet wound in the back while he was walking in the street.
He was admitted to the European Gaza Hospital, where his injury was described as moderate.
At approximately 6:30 pm on the same day, the IOF withdrew from the area.
