At approximately 8:10 am on Monday 3 October 2011, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF)opened fire ona number of Palestinian laborers who were working in the solid waste dump in the northeast of the village of Wadi Gaza.
As a result, Mohammed Salman Mubarak As-Sawarka, 17, sustained a bullet wound in the left thigh.
According to eyewitnesses, three Israeli soldiers opened fire on the Palestinian workers while they were collecting scrap iron and plastic in the vicinity of the solid waste dump.
The workers carried As-Sawarka to the dump’s outer gate, where two ambulances were waiting.

As-Swarka was admitted to Ash-Shifa Hospital, where doctors described his injury as moderate.
