On 17 May 2008, a police force detained 25 citizens from Al Mena area in western Gaza City, on the background of altercations that occurred in Abu Hasira mosque.
The police held those citizens for four hours, and then released them after they signed pledges stating that they pay a fine of five thousand dollars in case this incident is repeated.
