Short Link:
Al Mezan is carefully following the response of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, and other governmental institutions in Gaza to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, and praises the efforts of medical personnel to contain the viral disease, despite the health sector being severely under-resourced.
On Tuesday, 31 March 2020, Al Mezan penned a letter to Dr. Yousef Abu El-Reesh, the Deputy Minister of Health in Gaza, raising key concerns vis-à-vis the authorities’ quarantine measures and especially in relation to quarantined patients who require special treatment.
The letter also urged the competent authorities to manage the prevalence of mosquitos in quarantine centers, particularly in tree-filled schools that are being used for quarantine; to provide personal protective gear and sufficient hygiene kits to all quarantined cases, so as to limit sharing among residents; and to ensure the uninterrupted supply of running water to the centers.
Al Mezan is encouraged by the remarkable efforts exerted by the Ministry of Health and all other governmental sectors, and wishes a speedy recovery to all people battling COVID-19 in Palestine and elsewhere in the world.
