In the evening hours of Tuesday, 19 November 2013, Israeli forces launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with six aerial bombardments and one artillery strike on Khan Younis.
At approximately 8:45 am on Tuesday, 19 November 2013, Israeli tanks accompanied by armored bulldozers moved under covering fire and artillery shelling to approximately 200 meters east of Al Qarara village in the east of Khan Younis.
The bulldozers proceeded to level lands in the area until approximately 11:30 am when the forces withdrew.
At approximately 8:15 pm on the same day, Israeli aircraft fired two missiles at two adjacent farms in Al Manara neighborhood, southeast of Khan Younis.
One of the farms hit was a 400 square meter poultry farm.
The other was a 2,550 square meter sheep farm.
In the attack 3,500 chicken and 15 sheep were killed.
At approximately 8:20 pm on the same day, Israeli aircraft fired two missiles at an open area about 250 meters away from the separation fence between Gaza and Israel, east of Al Qarara village, northeast of Khan Younis.
The attack left a gaping hole in the ground with no casualties or injuries reported.
At approximately 8:15 pm on the same day, Israeli aircraft fired two missiles at an agricultural field in Az-Zanna area, east of Khan Younis.
The attack also left a hole in the ground with no casualties or injuries reported.
At approximately 8:50 pm on the same day, an Israeli aircraft fired a missile at one of the Palestinian military training sites which is located near the sewage treatment plant, east of Om An-Naser Bedouin village, in the North Gaza district.
At approximately9:05 pm on the same day, another missile was dropped on the same site.
At approximately 9:10 pm on the same day, an Israeli jet plane fired a third missile at the site.
The site was destroyed.
No casualties or injuries were reported but electricity was cut throughout the district.
At approximately 09:25 pm on the same day, Israeli tanks fired three artillery shells at an open area in east Zaytoun east of Gaza City.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
The Al Mezan Center for Human Rights condemns the Israeli attacks.
Al Mezan also expresses its concern as this escalation of Israeli aggression continues in the silence of the international community.
Al Mezan therefore calls on the international community, especially the High Contracting Parties of the Fourth Geneva Convention, to uphold their moral and legal obligations to take action to bring to a swift end to the violations against the population of Gaza.
