Explosion Injures Farmer East of Khan Younis


At approximately 3:30pm on Sunday 21 November 2010, 'Awni Mohammed Abu T'eema, 37, was injured by shrapnel in the face and hands when an explosive device exploded.
Abu T'eema was in his field some 600 meters from the border fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel in Um Al Mahed neighborhood east of Abassan village east of Khan Younis district when the explosion occurred.
He was admitted to the Gaza European Hospital where his injury was described as light.
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) has frequently invaded and fired artillery shells at this location; however, the cause of the explosion has remained unclear.
