Three Killed in Tunnel Collapse in Rafah

On Monday, 11/8/2008, at approximately 11:00 am, three citizens were killed in a tunnel collapse.
The tunnel connects the Egyptian territories with Al Barazil neighborhood in Rafah.
The Civil Defense officials started the search work since the first hours of the morning and could retrieve their bodies.
They were identified as: 30-year-old Hussam Awadalah Cak, 19-year-old Yousif Yousif Khamis Jaber , and his uncle 42-year-old Saleh Khamis Yousif Jaber, all of them are from Al Shabura neighborhood in Rafah.
It is noteworthy that this is the second tunnel that collapses during 48 hours.
On Saturday, 9/8/2008, at approximately 6:00 pm, a tunnel, connecting the Egyptian territories with Al shoka village east to Rafah crossing point, collapsed injuring 7 people, some of them were retrieved on the Egyptian border and their injuries were described as moderate.
