This report examines the cultural and historical devastation of the Gaza Strip which has accompanied the profound humanitarian crisis and genocide unleashed by violent Israeli attacks since October 2023. As of the end of December 2025, reported casualties included approximately 70,942 people killed, including 18,592 children and nearly 12,400 women. In addition, approximately 11,000 people are reported missing; an estimated 171,195 have been injured. Displacement has occurred on a massive scale, with nearly two million people internally displaced and approximately 100,000 having left the Gaza Strip. At least 60% of the Strip is now under complete Israeli control. These developments have contributed to a cataclysmic demographic and social crisis. The conflict has led to a significant decline in the population of the Gaza Strip. Estimates indicate a reduction of approximately 254,000 people, representing approximately 10.6% of the pre-conflict population, bringing the total population to approximately 2.13 million.
