Disabled Palestinian Dies of Wounds Sustained in Israeli Shooting at Demonstrators in Eastern Khan Younis

At 8am on Monday, 23 April 2018, doctors at the European Gaza Hospital announced the death of Tahrir Wahba, 18-year old resident of Ma’an area in Khan Younis. Tahrir, who is deaf and non-verbal, was injured in the head by live fire when, at 3:20pm on Sunday, 1 April 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders of Khan Younis used live ammunition, rubber-coated bullets and tear-gas grenades in policing protesters joining the “Great Return March” demonstration. He was 150-200 meters away from the border fence when he was injured, and he had since been receiving treatment at the European Gaza Hospital until he finally died of his wounds.
