Helmi Abu Rjeela, Khuza'a
At approximately 5:30am on 23 July 2014, Israeli warplanes fired three missiles at the house of Helmi Mohammed Abu Rjeela, located in east Khuza'a town. The house, which is composed of a ground floor built on an area of 240 square meters, was completely destroyed and three of its residents were killed. As ambulances were not allowed to access the house after the attack, neighbours managed to rescue Helmi's wife, Siham Abu Rjeela, (57), and her daughter Nahed (38). The area was under the Israeli ground invasion and people could not take them out of the town until the next day. The next day, the neighbours walked around three kilometres carrying them. Nahed was referred to a hospital in Egypt four days after the attack, but died there on 4 August 2014. Helmi and his son Abbas were pulled from under the rubble of the house on 3 August 2014 and 11 August 2014, respectively.
