Electricity was cut off in north Gaza districts due to the ongoing shelling which hit parts of main cables in the electricity network.
Al Mezan Center for Human Rights condemns these IOF crimes of extrajudicial assassinations, and asserts that such illegal killings, random shelling, and the targeting of vital civilian facilities such as Beit Hanoun Bridge and the electricity network constitute war crimes in breach of international law, most notably the Fourth Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.
Al Mezan hereby calls upon the international community, particularly the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention, to undertake their legal and ethical duties and immediately intervene to put an end to Israeli crimes and provide protection to civilians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).
Further, Al Mezan asserts that continuous disregard of Israeli crimes has encouraged further crimes against Palestinians in the OPT.
